Hello all, everyone, anyone…
Well, we (my husband and I) have officially moved from Northern California to San Diego. San Diego is where my husband and I met about 8 years ago and to be “home” again feels amazing for us. I love California, and I was raised in Northern California, but San Diego has always felt like home. I swear I was a mermaid in another life, or maybe that was just my adolescent Disney dreams…? Either way, the cool salt water, warm sun and summer weather 90% of the year is what my dreams are made of. Since I am a dreamer I often get down on myself when I realize I am not where I want to be in life, but then I look at what I’ve accomplished and realize I’m actually doing fucking great. It’s not like I have an idea of what I want my future to look like, but have no plans in place to get me there. I am working on it. A year ago my husband and I had a few things we wanted to accomplish, and guess what?! We are half way there!
This was the list:
Pay off credit card debt… CHECK!
Save cash… CHECK!
Get transferred to San Diego… CHECK!
Pay off car loan
Build a tiny house
The next 3 steps are going to be a huge challenge to accomplish in the time frame we would like (summer of 2020), but you know what? The fact that we knocked off the first three in the first 6 months of this year alone has me incredibly positive that we CAN and WILL make the last 3 happen by next summer. I have already interviewed and been hired by a company that I sought out. I am so excited for, and humbled by, the fact that I have been given the opportunity to work where I want and with people who are on the same, positive, forward-thinking page. I’m not going to lie, I’m anxious and a little nervous. I know the next 3 items on the list are down to me and the money I am able to make, but I’m a determined individual and know with the support of my husband and family I will make shit happen. Of course there will be defeat and devastation and a bit of cussing… ok, a lot of cussing… along the way, but CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
Right now I’m back in Northern California painting my parent’s house, and eating the occasional C.R.E.A.M. ice cream sandwich (see photo below) but next week I’ll be back in San Diego go-go-going! In 6 months I’ll look back and give you a little update. For now, it’s time to put my head down and work.
Thank you for reading!
